04/24/2008 - Hercules extends its webcam range with a new release, available at an incredible price!

New York, April 24th, 2008 - Hercules is expanding its presence on the webcam market with the launch of the Classic Link, a webcam that will attract consumers, not only because of its design and specifications... but also its price!

the best in form and features for under $20!

The range of webcams available for less than $20 is comparatively large, but these devices often display features that are as minimalistic as their price tag. In this category, Hercules applies the same principals as for its other webcams: to offer the best possible price/performance ratio. From this perspective, the Classic Link webcam is a performer indeed, and boasts two exceptional sales points: a VGA CMOS sensor, where its competitors only feature a CIF CMOS sensor, and a built-in microphone, a feature usually reserved to higher-end devices.

Powerful and comprehensive!

A streamlined, fine and elaborate design, an efficient attachment system (suitable for CRT screens, TFT displays and laptop displays), a 1.5 m USB cable and 360-degree horizontal & 180-degree vertical rotation angles make this webcam the ideal companion for any environment, without asking users to tolerate an unsightly device or to alter their installation.

The Classic Link displays images with a resolution of 800 x 600 in both photo (interpolated mode) and video modes, at the speed of 30 frames per second, guaranteeing pleasant chat sessions with truly fluid images. Akin to other Hercules webcams, it is compatible with all chat software (Windows LiveTM Messenger, MSN® Messenger, SkypeTM, Yahoo!® Messenger, Aol® Instant Messenger...) and operates under Windows XP Sp2, as well as VISTA 32 et 64 bits.

Lastly, Hercules supplies the Classic Link with the user-friendly software Hercules Webcam Station Evolution SE, which offers three photo capture modes (simple, continuous and timer), a one-click video capture feature and the automatic conversion and resizing of captures for emailing. It really features everything that a high-end model can provide... in addition to a remarkably small price tag!

The Hercules Classic Link will be available in June 2008, at the suggested retail price of $19.99.
