London, October 27th, 2008 - Hercules is introducing a simple yet innovative solution to give users of WiFi G and DSL technology access to the benefits of the latest WiFi N standard: meet the Hercules WiFi N Access Point (HWNAP-300) .
Today, most households equipped with WiFi technology use 802.11g devices, but the new high-performance now available through the WiFi N standard offers a significantly increased bandwidth (up to 300 Mbps) that demanding users crave.
The Hercules WiFi N Access Point offers an easy solution: it accelerates the existing WiFi G router modem, enabling the device to attain the bandwidths offered by 802.11n technology - up to 300 Mbps - 5.5 times faster than with the WiFi 802.11g box alone! Surfing, broadcasting HD videos or music, playing games online - all this is now possible simultaneously, without saturating the network.
Network coverage is also enhanced thanks to the Access Point’s two antennas, and WPA2/WPA security is maintained at maximum level over the entire new network.
The Hercules WiFi N Access Point guides users through a simple and user-friendly installation process with a clever set up wizard featuring Flash animation for better comprehension - just provide the WiFi network parameters, i.e. the network’s name and safety key, and you’re ready to go. When used with a DSL box, the setup wizard will use the same network name and safety key as the box. All installed WiFi devices instantly connect to the Access Point, with no additional configuration steps required! A simple press on the WPS button also allows for instant connection to all new WPS compatible wireless devices. Like all Hercules WiFi solutions, the Hercules WiFi Manager configuration interface is designed to offer unrivalled user-friendliness, but also offers advanced configuration options for more advanced users.
The Hercules WiFi N Access Point is certified by the WiFi Alliance and operates with WiFi standards 802.11n, 802.11g, 802.11b and is compatible with all DSL boxes available on the market.
The Hercules WiFi N Access Point will be available in late October 2008, at the suggested retail price of £59.99 incl. VAT. It will also be featured in a pack including a WiFi N USB dongle, enabling computers to access a WiFi N network directly (SRP: £79.99 incl. VAT).
