04/24/2008 - Hercules extends webcam range with the launch of a quality webcam for under a tenner

London, April 24th, 2008 - Hercules is strengthening its presence in the webcam market with the launch of the Classic Link, an entry level webcam that will WOW consumers, not only because of its design and specifications... but also its price!

The range of webcams available for less than £10.00 is large, but these devices often have features that are as minimalistic as their price tags! In this category, Hercules applies the same principals as for its other webcams; to offer the best possible price/performance ratio. The Classic Link webcam is rather impressive, boasting two exceptional features that will amaze the user: a VGA CMOS sensor, where competitors only feature a CIF CMOS sensor, and a built-in microphone, a feature only seen in higher-end devices.

POWERFUL AND COMPREHENSIVE FEATURES!

• Streamlined, fine and elaborate design,
• Super efficient attachment system (suitable for CRT screens, TFT displays and laptop displays),
• 30 frames per second for fluid images
• 800 x 600 photo & video resolution (in interpolated mode)
• 360-degree horizontal & 180-degree vertical rotation
• Compatible with all chat software (Windows LiveTM Messenger, MSN® Messenger, SkypeTM, Yahoo!® Messenger, Aol® Instant Messenger...
• Works with Windows XP Sp2 and VISTA 32 et 64 bits
• 1.5 m USB cable

Hercules bundles the Classic Link with its trade mark user-friendly software Hercules Webcam Station Evolution SE, which offers three photo capture modes (simple, continuous and timer), a one-click video capture feature and the automatic conversion and resizing of captures for emailing. It really delivers much of what you would expect from a high end model!

The Hercules Classic Link will be available mid May 2008 with an RRP of £9.99.
