HWNUm-300V2: a wealth of features packed in an ultra-mini key
This solution by Hercules features the new Wi-Fi Direct certified feature, which enables users to go online without using a router, a modem or a box or any other Wi-Fi Direct certified device. It provides a perfect solution for users wishing to connect their Smartphone, printer or digital still camera directly to their PC - at the press of a button!
Boasting an ultra-mini design, the HWNUm-300V2 will never block your computer’s USB ports.
Its 300 Mbps bandwidth will enable users to make the most of high-bandwidth applications.
HWNUm-600: dual frequency ranges
The current proliferation of WiFi networks increases the likelihood of interferences and connection issues. To compensate for this problem, in addition to the traditional 2.4 GHz frequency range, the new Hercules HWNUm-600 WiFi dongle uses a 5 GHz frequency range, which doesn’t become saturated by connected devices.
This feature enhances both signal stability and bandwidth, and is perfectly suited to applications such as streaming High Definition video multimedia contents.
Each frequency range offers a 300 Mbps bandwidth, and both frequency ranges operate simultaneously; under intensive use conditions, the total bandwidth can therefore reach 600 Mbps.
Technology and software featured in both Hercules solutions
The built-in WPA2 technology enables the HWNUm-600 and HWNUm-300V2 devices to offer unrivalled WiFi security, ensuring that both devices automatically adapt to the existing network’s security.
The devices feature a WPS button that enables users to connect any kind of device - whether routers, boxes or Wi-Fi Direct devices.
In addition, the new version of the WiFi Station N software (available as a single or Dual Band version) makes the Wi-Fi Direct devices extremely simple to use; it also boasts a simple, user-friendly interface enabling users to easily configure all their WiFi networks.
The HWNUm-300V2 and HWNUm-600 devices will be available in September 2012 at the suggested retail prices of £24.99 and £34.99 VAT included.
